Hi Matt,
Matt Gross wrote:Hi everyone,
I just bought an emobile D01NE card to use with my Fedora 7 laptop. I tried to configure using the following instructions:

and
http://d.hatena.ne.jp/hayamiz/20070616/1181994636
But I am having trouble. It does dial up and connect, but I cannot browse the internet or anything. I've noticed that /var/log/messages is reporting "Could not determine remote IP address: defaulting to 10.64.64.64" (see log below).
Has anyone else been successful in getting this to work? If so, what am I doing wrong? Do I need to send the PIN number to the server to obtain[snip] > Jan 12 06:01:14 subzero pppd[5622]: remote IP address 10.64.64.64 > Jan 12 06:01:14 subzero pppd[5622]: primary DNS address 60.254.193.158 > Jan 12 06:01:14 subzero pppd[5622]: secondary DNS address 60.254.209.158 > Jan 12 06:13:29 subzero pppd[5622]: Terminating on signal 15 > Jan 12 06:13:29 subzero pppd[5622]: Connect time 12.3 minutes. > Jan 12 06:13:29 subzero pppd[5622]: Sent 23014 bytes, received 16042 > bytes. > Jan 12 06:13:29 subzero pppd[5622]: Connection terminated. > > > gnome-ppp output: > > [root@example.com ~]# gnome-ppp > WVCONF: /root/.wvdial.conf > GNOME PPP: Connecting... > GNOME PPP: STDERR: --> WvDial: Internet dialer version 1.54.0 > GNOME PPP: STDERR: --> Cannot get information for serial port. > GNOME PPP: STDERR: --> Initializing modem. > GNOME PPP: STDERR: --> Sending: ATZ > GNOME PPP: STDERR: ATZ > GNOME PPP: STDERR: OK > GNOME PPP: STDERR: --> Sending: ATH0E1 > GNOME PPP: STDERR: ATH0E1 > GNOME PPP: STDERR: OK > GNOME PPP: STDERR: --> Modem initialized. > GNOME PPP: STDERR: --> Sending: ATM1L3DT*99***1# > GNOME PPP: STDERR: --> Waiting for carrier. > GNOME PPP: STDERR: ATM1L3DT*99***1# > GNOME PPP: STDERR: CONNECT > GNOME PPP: STDERR: --> Carrier detected. Afraid I have no experience with doing what you're doing but the logs seem to point to the ppp daemon getting some signal and hanging up so perhaps the version of WvDial or gnome dialer might need to be upgraded? You might want to scan the bug reports for the version that is installed on Fedora 7 and see if there's anything that might be related.
