Well, I'm curious what it was that latex wasn't doing that you wanted
it to do.

I don't use it if I want to plot graphs, I'll admit, but it's fine for
Manhattan geometry (ie, exactly placed vertical and horizontal lines)
... if I know the coordinates I want.
