I'm using the current version of Kubuntu and I'm experiencing the same results with both FireFox-3.0.1 and Konqueror-3.5.9.  The file works before it's moved from one computer to another (via USB flash memory)... what is there about moving a file that changes it?  The file structure is exactly the same....
 

What is the full path to the HTML file? (post it here).

The page is there - displaying the text no problem, only the photos are not displaying from the local drive - but work fine once uploaded and display from the local drive (with the exact same file structure).
 

Just a guess but it might due to the fact that some browser does not parse well
日本語 in your filename/folder name

No non-English characters in the file/folder name.

Great pictures!  Great composition and you seem to have the people skills necessary to get people to pose for you as well!  Shinjuku-Gyoen... I used to work near there and visited several times in the spring and fall.  Great park.
