Godwin,The process doesn't end unless the voter puts the paper in the receptacle. If they leave before doing so, the thing turns on the flashing red sirens, revs up the death rays, and the secret police throw them back in the voting booth. How many voters are going to pocket the paper, thinking it's a receipt and proof that they voted for their candidate instead of putting it in the receptacle?
It wouldn't be hard at all to have the machine verify the presence of the paper inside the machine before putting the "thank you, your voting is now complete" screen up.
So, in other words, I still don't see this system as any worse than currently existing systems, and in many ways a whole lot better.
