I had tried the IPA fonts before I started whining about it to the list 
and you.

I guess the conclusion from you all is that Mr Kuroda and Mr Sano are 
too fussy about the fonts. I will ask them what is wrong.

Unfortunately I don't have MS Word ;-)

The Ubuntu package has them all ready to be used (goth and maru) font 
families.
