Like the subprimes "innovation". If that's good for the US, that's good for the rest of the world too.
And, basically, innovations are not "available to society". They are  
available to those who can afford them. And businesses are very  
careful to select who can afford their innovations and on what terms.  
Look at Monsanto. Like Big Pharma.
Business in general totally fails to make innovations available to  
_society_ as a whole. It's only purpose is to make money, availability  
to society is a side effect (and sometimes a very nasty one). And you  
see what kind of innovations make the most money right now: the one  
that cannot be further removed from society: financial tricks that put  
tons of moneys in the pockets of the trickers. And this money  
certainly does not come from the taxes they pay...
