Hi,

In your opinion do I have anything to complain about with Android in
the following case:

HTC states their handsets support bluetooth 2.0 and RFCOMM

Google pulls thier bluetooth api from android and only uses RFCOMM for
the headset

Google says the bluetooth api is only from version 2.0 and warns that
using 3rd party bluetooth apis may break in any update

HTC won't release  an Android 2.0 version for about 5 handsets (magic,
mytouch, g1 etc)

In my view, promising bluetooth and rfcomm means that it should work
-- not that it's available from 3rd parties and might break

Here is what HTC says:  What version of Bluetooth does my device come with?
Your device comes with Bluetooth v2.0 with EDR. Supported profiles
GAP, RFCOMM, HFP, HSP, and A2DP.

I want to use RFCOMM with lego robots but don't want to invest time in
it if it's just gonna get broken.

Based on what HTC said, do you think I have a reason to complain or do
you think I got what they said I would get?  The radio stuff in Andoid
is proprietary and locked away so ... I have little hope of the
community coming up with a reliable solution.
