Inside the GUI (scim-setup) there is Panel|GTK and a button to choose Font.

Otherwise:
$ grep Font .scim/config
/Panel/Gtk/Font = default

I think this resource is relevant as well:
$ xrdb -q |grep ximFont
XTerm*ximFont:  -*-*-medium-r-normal--14-140-75-75-*-*-*
