So, looking at code for apache-2.2 it seems that it will try to open a
file twice for writing without any lock mechanism in sight...

Although there is probably line-buffer somewhere upstream, I guess
under heavy load on several vhosts configured this way, log will be
badly overwriten.

Putting that on the ToTest list, but most probably not this month...
