Re: Slacware 3.0 vs. Redhat 2.1




I guess I prefer Slackware because I have always used it, and it has 
always been excellent.  I have never tried to install Red Hat, but also 
have not heard much about it (good or bad).  The Slackware packages are 
always filled with a reasonable set of programs and installs fairly 
painlessly.  2.3 came with ELF support and installing it was no harder 
than the non-ELF versions.  Thus Java now works on my machine without 
having to go throught the clumsy process of installing ELF by hand.

Not much factual data, just my biased opinion.  :-)
