Hi, I'm using a new ASUS PCI/I P55SP3AV motherboard with 1 gig Quantum IDE disk, Mitsumi Quad speed ATAPI CD, 166 mhz Pentium, Etherlink III board. The board is kind of interesting with onboard SIS6205 video chipset that can use system DRAM as video memory and ESS1788 AudioDrive chip with 16-bit sound. Of course, everything is not working at this point. These are some error messages at read time: hda: QUANTUM FIREBALL1080A, 1039MB w/83KB Cache, LBA, CHS=2112/16/63 hdb: FX400_02, ATAPI CDROM drive ide0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7,0x3f6 on irq 14 Floppy drive(s): fd0 is 1.44M Started kswapd v 1.4.2.2 FDC 0 is a post-1991 82077 eth0: 3c509 at 0x300 tag 1, BNC port, address 00 a0 24 0a 4e 06, IRQ 11. 3c509.c:1.03 10/8/94 becker@example.com Partition check: hda: hda1 hda2 hda3 hda4 VFS: Mounted root (ext2 filesystem) readonly. The ATAPI CD-ROM is on hdb. The read is failing. Also, when I do a LILO I get: niji:~# lilo geo_comp_addr: Cylinder number is too big (1026 > 1023) niji:~# Paul just told me to check the BIOS. Any other hints? Yoroshiku..
