He will utilize Linux, Gimp, and Netscape as examples of how the Internet is being utilized to implement large, physically distributed projects. How this will affect telecommuting and group work in the future will be touched on, as well. Due to his involvement with the internationalization of software, Oda will also comment on Japan's role in the global framework of open protocols and standards. Biographical Sketch Craig Oda is currently the president of TWICS, Inc., the first commercial Internet Service Provider in Japan, where he has been working since 1993. He has also involved privately with the Tokyo Linux Users Group (TLUG) since 1994 as a founding member and currently as president.
