Hello, I'm using gnus with Emacs 20.3. There appears to be three ways to get Japanese to appear with gnus: 1) gnus without modification, 2) gnus-mime, 3) semi-gnus with APEL and SEMI. I can read Japanese with 1 and 3. I have not tried 2. However, I can't get the article summary buffers to decode MIME subject headers when I just use gnus. When I use semi-gnus the subjects are decoded in the buffer. When I use gnus, I can get the MIME encoded subject to display in the article body with gnus-article-show-mime (I think). However, it still doesn't display in the summary buffer and I can't find a command to decode just the headers. My question is if it is possible to read the MIME summary headers with just gnus or gnus-mime? Or, do I have to use semi-gnus? I'm happy with semi-gnus. However, I was just curious about how well gnus alone handled Japanese.
