Not true. Most Marketplace sellers don't want the hassle of (or see
the need for) international shipping. But Amazon allow it:

It certainly cannot hurt, and if it is fun, go for it. But for it to
be a learning exercise, you really need to make an effort to listen
for interesting expressions in Japanese. Watch the film with English
subs on the first time, but thereafter, turn them off and listen for
lines you know extremely well.
