Because the obscured addresses denote mailboxes that are actually read, by people who, although smart enough to be gainfully employed are also human enough to have dick-length anxiety or to think maybe they really did win a lottery they didn't enter. Please do not underestimate the skills of spammers and scammers. I don't care, personally, I can take care of myself. But I also don't think it's a good idea to provide false security for those who can't or won't take care of themselves.
